DELTA Resources part of MRAP Joint Test Team Awarded 2007 Tester of the Year by NDIA
The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle Joint Test Team (JTT), which is supported by DELTA's Andy Walden and Steve Etheridge, was honored as Special Category Tester of the Year at the 24th Annual National Test & Evaluation Conference held in Palm Springs, CA on February 27th, 2008.
The award and conference are sponsored by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and endorsed by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). NDIA presents this honor annually to outstanding civilian, military and support contractor personnel from the military services and within OSD working in the field of test & evaluation.
In their award citation, NDIA and OSD stated, “the MRAP JTT has addressed a series of significant challenges with the highest degree of professional excellence. Moreover, it has been a model of joint teamwork.”
DELTA Resources supports the MRAP JTT as a sub-contractor to the EG&G Division of URS. Specifically, Mr. Walden and Mr. Etheridge provide leadership to the test & evaluation team operating out of Aberdeen Testing Center and Yuma Proving Grounds. In addition to work in test & evaluation, DELTA Resources provides program management support to the MRAP Joint Program Office in Quantico, VA, also as a sub-contractor to EG&G.
The MRAP Vehicle Program is a Joint, ACAT 1D program which is currently the number one priority program within the Department of Defense. MRAP Vehicles provide enhanced survivability to Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Special Operations Command warfighters deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The program is currently in the procurement phase and is valued at $25 Billion. The Joint Program Office is led by Marine Corps System Command in Quantico, VA.
