DELTA Challenges Employees With “Biggest Loser” Competition
Three month, cash reward contest sparks 20% company participation

Arlington, VA — In an effort to continue the promotion of employee wellness, DELTA Resources, Inc. (DELTA) is challenging their entire company in a contest to see who can lose the greatest percentage of body-fat over a three month period.

Spanning from April 15th to July 15th, the challenge has each employee paying a registration fee of $5 which is matched in-full by DELTA. With 50 participants registered, there is $500 at stake for the top three participants with the greatest percentage of weight loss.

DELTA already offers a generous amount of health wellness benefits that its employees take advantage of, so it was no surprise to DELTA’s CEO, Maria Proestou, that over 20% of the company’s 200 person workforce has already signed up to participate.

“Employee health and wellness are among our top concerns for our work force at DELTA,” says Proestou, “We honestly believe that our employees’ physical well being yields not just focused productivity for our company, but a better quality of life for our employees and their families.”

DELTA is actively assisting participants in preparation for the competition with recommended diet plans through their company health care provider, while some employees are even coming together for walking groups and 5K run clubs.

Health and wellness are just a few of the many perks offered to DELTA employees; in fact, DELTA was named a “Great Place to Work” by Washingtonian Magazine in 2007 for their exceptional retention rate, wellness benefits, and employee referral rate.
