DELTA Set Record for Giving for Third Consecutive Year
DELTA increased giving in 2010 by $3,400 over previous year.
Arlington, VA – DELTA Resources Inc., through its philanthropic arm DELTActs, provided $64,795 in 2010 to various charitable organizations throughout the Washington metro area and nationally. This breaks the 2009 record of $61, 335. The increase of $3,460 represents more than a 5% growth in DELTA’s giving. The annual total is a combination of giving by employees, matching gifts by DELTA, corporate donation of items, and corporate sponsorships of events under DELTActs.
DELTA President and CEO Maria Proestou said, “I am proud of DELTA and its employees for their commitment to its DELTActs program. Having another record setting year in giving confirms our dedication to the community. Giving back is part of our culture here at DELTA, whether through monetary or volunteer gifts.”
The Fisher House™ Foundation, DELTA’s “Philanthropy of the Year” for 2010-11, was a major recipient of giving by DELTA and its employees during 2010 with $18,460. This is the fifth year that DELTA employees chose the organization as the “Philanthropy of the Year.”
