DELTA To Open First Maryland Location in Anne Arundel County
BRAC provides opportunity for DELTA to expand operations into Maryland.

Annapolis, MD - DELTA Resources, Inc. will open its first Maryland location this summer in Millersville. DELTA has signed a 5-year lease with Murphy Commercial for space at the Firemark Building, planning to open by July 1, 2011 with an initial 40 new jobs.

DELTA Resources President and CEO Maria Proestou said, “Having an office location in Maryland gives DELTA the ability to continue our outstanding service to our existing customers and develop relationships with new ones. It is our hope to bring more employment opportunities to Anne Arundel County as we continue to grow.”

DELTA Resources provides government support services such as program and financial management, information technology, engineering and acquisition management to Department of Defense and other government agencies. The company currently has Virginia offices in Arlington, Falls Church, and Virginia Beach, as well as one in Downtown Washington D.C. With over 270 employees stationed across America, DELTA Resources brings a well respected reputation to the state of Maryland. One of their largest customers is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) opening their new headquarters facility this year at Fort Meade as a result of the BRAC process.

Over a year ago, Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) met with DELTA to provide real estate information and other business services as they considered an expansion. Robert L. Hannon, AAEDC President and CEO said, “This year, a growing number of defense contractors will be expanding into Anne Arundel County as the BRAC process nears completion and the three consolidated agencies begin operations at Fort Meade. AAEDC is looking forward to providing assistance that will simplify and expedite expansions for these businesses.”

The Firemark Building located on Veterans Highway in Millersville, MD, will be completed in early 2011. It is a Class A, 4 story, 29,600 SF building that was constructed using state of the art LEED Standards. Current tenants include Anne Arundel County Employees Federal Credit Union, Kahn, Smith, Collins, and the local Anne Arundel Professional Firefighters Union Local 1563.
